Hello @samodin-ops in general, Proton Hotfix is an irregular build which shouldn't be used unless there's a specific hack being trialed for the game you're playing. For comparison, can you check how this game behaves with Proton 11 or Proton Experimental?
Hello Kisak, Yes. I'm testing it in Proton 11 right now and the controls and game are working perfectly. I guess the only reason why I was using hotfix is because it is what Steam defaulted me to.
Problem is also happening with my Xbox Series controller on Pirate Yakuza, connected with the wireless dongle. I tested using Experimental.
I would be fine switching to Proton 11, but enabling Wayland on proton-cachyos gives me up to 30% more performance in some scenes and lower input lag.

Symptoms
When starting the game in Proton Hotfix, the D-Pad along with several other buttons do not function correctly. If I switch to Proton 10.0, the button functionality goes back to normal. All buttons test as normal in the controller configuration on the Steam App. The controller I am using is an 8bitdo Ultimate 3-mode Controller for Xbox. This issue occurs in both the 2.4G mode and connected to USB. Model #81HB
