Compatibility Report

  • Name of the game with compatibility issues: XCOM 2, War of the Chosen
  • Steam AppID of the game: 268500

System Information (see below)

I confirm:

  • [X] that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
  • [X] that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.

Symptoms

First, this is my first trip to GitHub, so apologies if I am not submitting things correctly.

Several users (including myself) experienced loss of keyboard control within XCOM 2 sometime after on or very slightly before June 1. I was operated well at 11:15 pm 5/31 when I saved and logged off. The next morning, the game would not recognize any keystrokes. I have tried all the standard steps, but nothing is working. The thread discussing the issue can be found here:

Reproduction

Run the game XCOM 2 with War of the Chosen. Start a new game, which will drop you into tactical mode. No keystrokes will work "Q" and "E" for example should rotate camera, and Esc should bring up a menu.

Hello @Jeger-Wulfe, we're using one issue report per unofficially supported game title, so I've gone ahead and transferred this issue report to https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/6167#issuecomment-4627150347.
