You didn't provide your system information, note that there's a chance your issue is affected by your window manager but there's no way to guess what you're using
Proton version: 10 /11/ automatic
Steam Deck aside, the majority of game don't have an automatic proton version, if you don't manually specify the proton version for a title, then whatever you have set will be used, what you have selected can be checked at Steam > Settings > Compatibility
I didn't check at length, but with plasma wayland with a rdna4 card and a 4060 mobile with proton experimental and proton 10 both I had no issues with mouse clicks
