[x] that I haven't found an existing compatibility report for this game.
[x] that I have checked whether there are updates for my system available.
Symptoms
The game crashes/exits when opening either Settings or Load from the main menu.
The game starts normally and reaches the main menu. The crash happens only after selecting specific system menu options, especially Settings and Load.
This happens on official Valve SteamOS running on an ASUS ROG Ally.
The same game works correctly on the same ASUS ROG Ally when using Bazzite. On Bazzite, the game also works correctly after applying the official Original CG & Scenario patch.
The issue occurs even on a clean Steam installation of the game, without the patch applied.
I generated a Proton log during testing, but I am not attaching the full log at this time. The observed crash details included:
Install Summer Pockets REFLECTION BLUE from Steam.
Use a clean Proton prefix / delete Proton files.
Launch the game.
From the main menu, click Settings or Load.
The game exits/crashes.
Troubleshooting already tried
Verified game files through Steam.
Reinstalled the game cleanly.
Deleted Proton files / recreated a clean Proton prefix.
Tested multiple Proton versions, including:
Proton 8.0
Proton 9.0
Proton Experimental
Tested without the official Original CG & Scenario patch.
Tested with the official Original CG & Scenario patch.
Tried installing CJK fonts through Protontricks.
Tested the same game on Bazzite on the same ASUS ROG Ally.
Expected behavior
The Settings and Load menus should open normally.
Actual behavior
The game crashes/exits when opening Settings or Load on official Valve SteamOS on ASUS ROG Ally.
Additional notes
This appears to be specific to the official Valve SteamOS environment on ASUS ROG Ally. The same game and the same hardware work correctly under Bazzite, including with the official Original CG & Scenario patch applied.
The issue is not caused by the content patch, because the crash also occurs on a clean, unpatched Steam installation.
