Symptoms

Game crashes while loading a race exactly at 48%

Reproduction

1-Start Le Mans Ultimate
2-Start a race weekend in any configuration
3-Observe as the game crashes on loading screen at 48%

More Information:
The fix people currently use is a modified GE-Proton version by JacketUS
According to him the problem is due to lack of Direct2D support. My request is to merge the changes here with official proton so the game runs without the need for a custom proton version. I hope this is doable.
