It's actually far more random than I initially reported, but it was very consistent initially.
Its happening to me from time to time but i thought it was i3gaps crashing

Happens to me with Arch.
It only seems to happen after a short session such as if your headset isn't detected and you restart SteamVR. I don't remember it ever happening after any long sessions of Beat Saber of Alyx.
If the X session is being ended unexpectedly then it's not a SteamVR bug but one in X, the DDX, Mesa or nvidia's taintware. Check your X log and your kernel log.

I use Wayland is the only thing, however, it's not ending any tty's if that's what you mean, it simply logs me out. My user session is what's being terminated.

Much the same applies regarding Wayland. It could be a Wayland bug, but more likely it's a graphics driver bug. Regardless, it's not SteamVR which has the bug; it's merely the trigger for the bug which causes session termination.

Describe the bug
Whenever I need to restart SteamVR or close it for whatever reason, instead of SteamVR restarting or shutting down, I am booted out of my user session and have to login again. It closes ALL apps, and COMPLETELY logs me out. I am on KDE Manjaro.
