[BUG] mouse cursor appears in headset

Describe the bug
The desktop mouse cursor appears inside the headset display - does not appear on every launch.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. launch SteamVR
  2. Put on headset
  3. Look in center-ish area
  4. See cursor

Expected behavior
No cursor

System Information (please complete the following information):

  • Distribution: Arch
  • SteamVR version: [E.g. 1.13.10]
  • Steam client version: August 6, 2020
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: Steam doesn't let you do this on Linux
  • Graphics driver version: [run nvidia-settings or vulkaninfo | grep driverInfo:
    error: XDG_RUNTIME_DIR not set in the environment.
    driverInfo = Mesa 20.1.5 (LLVM 10.0.1)
    driverInfo = Mesa 20.1.5 (LLVM 10.0.1)

I've been seeing this too. It seems like restarting the headset from the steamvr monitor fixes it.

  • Distribution: Gentoo
  • SteamVR version: 1.15.2 beta
  • Steam client version: Oct 8 2020
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: yes
  • Graphics driver version: Mesa 20.2.0_rc4

I think it's related to mesa as I never had the issue on nvidia.
