Describe the bug

The vr compositor hits a fatal assertion:

ASSERT: "pthreads futex robust_list is corrupt" at /data/src/common/vrcore/src/ipcposix.cpp:208.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

Boot system
Start Steam client
From Steam, launch SteamVR
Wait for the Living Room environment to load
Run xrgears three times
- Observe it fail twice because of https://github.com/ValveSoftware/SteamVR-for-Linux/issues/412
- Observe it fail with the noted assertion.
Observe that the Steam client is unresponsive.

I have also reproduced this with my own application (just calling xrCreateInstance).

Expected behavior

xrgears example works.
