Describe the bug
I'm getting a lot of dropped frames, visible in both the performance graph and through sporadic choppy video in the headset. When opening the Advanced Frame Timing option, the issue disappears after a few seconds. It immediately resurfaces after closing that window.
To Reproduce
It's probably something related to my setup, so difficult to say.
Expected behavior
No frame drops to begin with, but most notably no improvement in performance from running the Advanced Frame Timing tool.
System Information:
Distribution: Debian Bullseye
SteamVR version: 1.19.7, but problem is also present in 1.14
Additional context
The only explanation I can come up with is that the frame timing monitor does more than just monitor, but also changes some operational parameter. I'm wondering what that may be and if there are other possibilities to fix the issue.
