Hello, I have been trying to switch to linux for a while now. I have so far gotten everything working except for virtual reality. I have an htc vive (the original 2016 model) and I have a rog zephryus g14 (the 2021 model with an rtx 3060 and ryzen 9 5900hs). With this hardware the only way I have been able to get an output into steamvr on linux is with pop os, even though I can get an output inside of pop os I cannot get a game to start and the environment is very stuttery and screen tearing is very much bad due to the frametimes being horific. I am pretty sure the frametimes are due to steamvr not seeing the headset unless I plug it into the hdmi port on my laptop (which goes through the igpu). So far I have not been able to figure out how to get my headset to output through the usb-c hdmi port as steamvr cannot get it as an output (the usb-c port is routed directly to the dgpu and that is how I have it working in windows) I have also tried running xrandr with both to see if my laptop is even seeing the headset. The headset is only showed up as an output when I have it plugged into the igpu (which is not a viable way of playing due to frame times) and when it is plugged into the dgpu though usb-c it has no clue its even plugged in in xrandr. I have tried many other distros with little to no luck. The only way I have been able to get an output to the headset when plugged in through usb-c into the dgpu is in fedora (which even though I can get an output to it, the internal display of my laptop goes out for a pretty terrible experience because nvidias drivers kinda break when I get it working) I have tried differnt arch based distros with no luck either. I am honestly stuck currently and was wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue or even been able to fix this. Any ideas on how to get it working would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
additional info:
I have tried many differnt versions of nvidia drivers: latest previous versions. Open source versions and more.
as stated I use a Rog zephryus g14 and a 2016 htc vive.
I have tried many MANY differnt distros with no luck.
