This behavior occurs for me as well, although opting out of the Steam client beta seems to resolve it. Of note, I'm currently experiencing #616 so this was observed via the desktop VR view rather than on the headset display.

Tangentially, I'm growing increasingly frustrated with the number of obvious, universal, breaking bugs present in beta versions of SteamVR, some of which have made it into stable versions. I don't mean to be nasty and I realize this isn't necessarily the proper forum for this, but it really does appear that these releases aren't even being launched on a Linux system internally prior to being shipped given how blatant these problems are.

This is also happening to me, note that some colors seem to be flipped as well. This was happening on an earlier version o SteamVR and now this issue is back.

SteamVR on Linux has never been officially supported. It's been in an open beta since release. The readme for this repo makes that fairly clear.

This is a development release. It is intended to allow developers to start creating SteamVR content for Linux platforms. Limited hardware support is provided.

Paradoxically though the Valve Index is officially supported on Linux. Despite the fact it requires SteamVR to function (unless you use something like Monado, which is not officially supported by Valve and has its own issues).

But yes, more internal testing by Valve would be nice. In any case this is all off topic.

Same, same.
It's quite something to look at.

The Y-axis flip should be fixed in latest Steam client beta + SteamVR beta. Are the color channels still swapped? (e.g. background looking brownish)

Ccaseif 2023-10-06 github

@TTimo Both the y-axis inversion and color swap issues seem to be fixed with 2.0.3 on my system.
