i used discord to show the mic working and not working
the mic stops working for all software
i just messed with the sound settings and turning stuff off and on and now it just randomly works all the time
ill close this for now
nvm its back :(
fixed it maybe again ill close this and if it comes back ill just keep trying to fix it myself before opening again

Index Mic will only work if i click on the volume button on the taskbar

im running kde with pipewire and this is a pretty fresh arch install
in the video im screaming into the mic then it just stops capturing audio until i click on the icon again
