Describe the bug
Whenever I launch SteamVR on my Linux machine, there is a chance of audio crackle ranging from slight to heavy and temporary to permanent (meaning I either have to reboot the whole system or just the SteamVR). I also experience a slight playback issue, that being the playback feels slower than usual, independent of whether I have audio crackle.

I use OVRAS as well, so the reproduction steps will include launch options for Steam itself

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open the terminal of your choice and type steam -compat-force-slr off
  2. Wait for Steam to load and then start SteamVR (you can compare the sound by playing some audio through your headset while SteamVR is booting up)
  3. The audio (may or may not) will start to crackle, and the playback will be noticeably different

Expected behavior
Clean audio with normal playback
