Having trouble getting the Apple Vision Pro to work with ALVR. I'm somewhat technical but I'm missing some information as to what's happening or how to troubleshoot further. Using a M5 AVP, as opposed to the M2 version.

Here's what happens:

  • Steam VR runs fine, is running with the expected command line switch in the steam properties.
  • ALVR shows connected, click the launch button.
  • Wireframe appears, but never gets past that.
  • ALVR Logs have a couple issues. First one is listing decoder failed:
Client 8913.client.alvr: [Error] Fatal decoder error, restarting connection: Gimme Frames >:(

This is usually followed by a broken pipe / disconnects. I'm not sure why I keep getting errors, but given it's the decoder is this something on the AVP side?

I ran a wireshark during a test session, i see traffic going through (The firewall rules fail to apply so i just disabled firewalld entirely.)

Uploading session.json, screenshot of the error. I can send a video taken from the AVP and a wireshark pcap as needed. I've run through the linux and alvr troubleshooting docs, not sure what else I can do on this. Also worth mentioning for decoder, don't see relevant settings in the ALVR client settings. I did try changing server to TCP/UDP, as well as tested every video codec, same thing on each count.

Any advice, or way to gather additional logs? I'm proficient in linux so ask for whatever info you need.
