[BUG] Steam crashes, going to "desktop" on SteamVR

Describe the bug
When in SteamVR on Linux, Hyprland, using Quest2 headset, selecting the "desktop" option at the bottoms crashes the Steam client in its entirety.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Connect to Steam via ALVR or Steam Link app on Quest2 headset, while using Hyprland
  2. Select the "Desktop" option to view your desktop
  3. Steam explodes

Expected behavior
Be able to view desktop from SteamVR

Please use the latest Steam beta client and SteamVR beta for your bug reports!

  • Steam client version (build number or date): 1759461205

  • SteamVR version: 2.13.7

  • Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): Arch Linux

I also have this issue on fedora with KDE Plasma and hyprland installed, only tested on KDE. Also using Valve Index and SteamVR

Also experiencing this issue. Trying to restart steamvr after this crash says a key component is missing and the only way to fix it is to completely restart your computer
