Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
Installed SteamOS for kicks. Vive wasn't detected by Steam nor would SteamVR run
Steps for reproducing this issue:
Install SteamOS
Plug Vive in
Scratch beard at the irony of SteamVR not working at all
Go back to half working CentOS
I'd love to provide more details but really there aren't any. No errors popup at all and I couldn't find the same logs I'd have in CentOS. That is after discovering not only does gnome-terminal not run, but many common things even in debian simply don't exist or are locked down (SSH for example). Basically making troubleshooting impossible. From what little I could gather, it was choking on (literally hundreds of the same line):
ERROR: ld.s: object '/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/ libsmodeswitch_inhibitor.so from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded (wrong ELF class: ELFCLASs32): ignored
Devices do show up in lsusb though. Bluetooth firmware is no where to be found.
