Either the audio will entirely vanish, or the audio and controls continue but the video will freeze. When the video issue occurs, it may pop back for a couple seconds and then freeze again at random. The audio issue though - audio never comes back.
Both can be solved be closing and re-opening Steam on the host machine, then it works fine again until either one of those issues happens again 30 minutes to an hour later.
