hello,
i can finally confirm that everything was solved by a system update...
this issue is back, and only on one game, which is quite frustrating (raceroom racing experience, runt with proton experimental)
everytime i press A or B on the steam controller it triggers the gnome remote desktop app, any suggestions?
a quick update on this
pressing one of the touchpads on the steam controller, while in a chat (even if no game is running) has the same exact behaviour and launches the gnome remote desktop app
still, really frustrating...
I pretty much have the same issue. Once I open Steam whenever I press any button/track pad or use the left joystick on my Steam controller the remote desktop window from gnome opens.
Steam Version: 1704760224
Distribution: openSUSE Tumbleweed
good to know i'm not the only one and that is not fedora dependant
hope they will solve it as it's getting frustrating...
so, updated to fedora 40 and i have the same exact problem, i even can't play a game cause the steam controller is not recognized anymore (it was before) and mapping the buttons via steam input is giving me this bug
please have a look into it cause it's driving me seriously mad...
Fedora 40 has been officially released but the problem is still there. Any news?can't play some other games with a controller due to that (games that i could play)
this is getting seriously frustrating
@kisak-valve hello, i have a quick update on this, seems i only have this problem in wayland, but in xorg everything is perfect, so it should be something wayland related
so at least now you know where to look for (probably)...
we are now approaching fedora 42 and this bug hasn't been solved yet and on top of that, xor'g has been removed
this mean that now support for games that utilizes steam input are actually broken
please do something as now it's almost two years i reported this and it's getting seriously frustrating
i can confirm that this issue still persists
running a game with steam input launches the remote desktop window
xbox series controller using xone driver
fedora 42
steam client 1752195011
3 years has passed and this issue still isn't solved yet
are we linux users condemned not to use half of the steam catalogue forever, due to this bug?
sorry but this is getting more and more frustrating, and considering that even other desktops are moving to wayland, not only gnome, it will be even more frustrating...
This is still an issue on fedora 44. Turning on the new steam controller causes the remote desktop window to show up.

Your system information
tar -zcvf ~/Desktop/steam-logs.tar.gz ~/.steam/steam/logs]Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
Yesterday i upgraded to Fedora 39 beta, which is stable but the devs decided to wait another week to release it so it's still in beta
the process went asolutely smooth except for one single thing, everytime i play a game in steam on the controller (Raceroom Racing Experience, from KW Studios) it triggers some system actions, for example everytime i press B on the controller (a steam controller), it triggers the remote desktop app, or things like this and it's seriously tedious as it makes the game unplayable, and it's just happening from when i updated to fedora 39, maybe it's not a steam thing but it's worth posting on here
just for the note, the game uses proton and i play with the gyroscope, althought i tried other games, natives and proton ones but it all went fine, gyro included
