If I leave my PC longer periods of time while CS is running, the desktop locks in the background and blocks any input to the game, in foreground. Entering the password to unlock the screen works, and game accepts input again.

System info in #937

Does this occur with other games?

Gnome 3?

@johndrinkwater 12.04 with Unity, pretty much stock.
@MrSchism will try.

Inhibiting the users configured lock screen seems like a worse bug than simply making them unlock their PC (as they have configured it). So, DNF, by design we don't stop the screensaver from kicking in if you leave your PC alone.

@alfred-valve I see your point, but at least the lock screen should be visible, not the game, while the screen is locked.

I would agree, sounds like a Window Manager bug that one :)

Ok, so what I was searching for is idle inhibition: http://people.freedesktop.org/~hadess/idle-inhibition-spec/

It's supported by KDE and the next Gnome. I believe this bug is worth reopening. After much consideration, I don't think users want their computer to lock up while in game. :)

Nothing extracted yet.
