Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

When hardware acceleration is enabled in Steam, the application flickers unexpectedly. This issue is reproducible on a fresh install of KDE Neon and Zorin OS 17, with and without mesa Kisak.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Enable hardware acceleration in Steam settings.
  2. Launch Steam.
  3. Observe the flickering behavior.

Additional Information:

  • No specific error messages were received.
  • Operating system version and desktop environment: Zorin OS 17 with GNOME Shell and KDE Neon 22.04.
  • No recent changes or updates to the system that might be relevant.file:///home/yann/Documents/steam-logs.tar.gz
  • This issue happens on both X11 and Wayland
  • No custom Steam skins or modifications were applied.
  • The issue is consistently reproducible.

Seeing the same thing in remote play from all AMD host. The only solution is to disable HW encoding but that's not a good solution.
