Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Around 7/2023 uninstall started behaving strangely.
Usually instead of giving the uninstall panel it would show the game achievements.
Since 1/1/2023 no selection does anything in the Manage submenu of a games settings (gear icon).
Screenshot from 2024-02-01 21-06-21

No error messages show up in 'journalctl --follow'.
All games run fine. Only the uninstaller is broken.

While running Ubuntu 20.04.4 in early 2023 everything worked fine.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. run steam client
  2. choose an installed game and click on gear
  3. Manage->Uninstall

Hello @cartier, if you hold down a modifier key like control while selecting the dropdown menu, does that affect the Steam client's behavior?

I tried it holding down each: left ctrl, right ctrl, left alt, right alt, shift and windows key(meta).
No difference.

@cartier If you go to Steam > Settings > Storage, you can uninstall there.

@cartier If you go to Steam > Settings > Storage, you can uninstall there.

That actually worked.
Thanks Dmitriy!

That said, there are still bugs that should be fixed by Valve.
"Manage->Hide this Game" does nothing.
"Manage->Mark as Private" probably does not work either.

The same for Ubuntu 22.04.4, rightclick->manage->uninstall, etc.. does nothing.

And this is with "Enable context menu focus compatibility mode" enabled in settings->interface.
Which (only) fixes the rightclick->properties dialog.

As workaround I enter "big picture mode", in which manage->uninstall does work correctly.
