Have you checked for updates in Settings > System?: Yes
Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
Describe what you expected should happen and what did happen.
Expected: Upon disabling airplane mode all network functionality should work.
Reality: Upon disabling airplane mode all network functionality except for Friends & Chat works.
Detailed description:
If airplane mode is currently toggled on when I shutdown or reboot the Deck, networking will still be disabled when it boots back into Gaming Mode. This is fine and expected. However when I toggle airplane mode off all network functionality is immediately restored except Steam does not sign me into Friends & Chat. Under F&C it says:
Signed Out of Friends & Chat You are currently offline. Sign in to access your friends list and chat.
There is no option there to manually "go online" or "connect". Under my profile it says "Steam Deck can't reach the Steam servers." AFAICT games do not attempt to update either, but I'm not 100% certain on this.
All other network functionality seems to work. I can ping google DNS 8.8.8.8 (via decky loader plugin that opens a terminal). I can browse the store. I can play online games. My PC shows up as an available Remote Play device.
With the issue in effect and airplane mode disabled, under Settings > Internet > disabling and re-enabling wifi has no effect.
With the issue in effect and airplane mode disabled, under Settings > Internet > I can tell it to "Go Offline" however after doing so I cannot "Go Online" as selecting that option has no effect. The wifi symbol has a purple X. I am forced to reboot to fix this.
Suspending the Deck and resuming with the power button has no effect.
Connecting to a 2.4Ghz network changes nothing.
The following three scenarios allow F&C/Steam profile to work (at least until I shutdown/reboot with airplane mode enabled):
Going into Offline Mode before enabling airplane mode, rebooting, then disabling airplane mode, and finally "Go Online".
Disable airplane mode and reboot.
Disable airplane mode and select Restart Steam from power menu.
After doing any of the previous three to get it working I can enable airplane mode, and then disable it, and F&C will reconnect as expected. This seems to be an issue with online/offline mode and airplane mode when Steam starts.
Steps for reproducing this issue:
Enable airplane mode within Gaming Mode.
Reboot the Steam Deck to Gaming Mode, or shutdown and then cold boot to Gaming Mode.

I have tried disabling wifi power saving as described here:

and here: https://stealthoptional.com/gaming/steam-deck-cant-reach-steam-servers-fix/
I have tried disabling IPv6 and setting my DNS to Cloudflare as per step 8 here:
