This is what I see when I login to the LINUX version of Steam with my Chromebook. Apparently the team at Steam needs to have its collective head examined because Chromebooks DO have the capability to run Linux!
I DO NOT want to use the Chrome OS Beta that is testing as there is no way to MODIFY the game I play on Steam currently through that interface! I WAS able to modify it through Linux and have gotten good at it. I don't think it's too much to ask that users be notified about potential detrimental changes. We do not get a say in when we upgrade. It does it and either apparently it works or it doesn't.
I shouldn't HAVE to relearn how I choose to play games just because I'm on a Chromebook using the LINUX distribution side.
I'm sorry if I am coming off aggressive but I am nearly 50 and have been playing Stardew Valley for years now, On my Chromebook with Linux having taught MYSELF how to use it and Steam Support telling me that I have to use Chrome OS Beta because that's what my computer is has pissed me off! And this is just a few weeks before Stardew Drops with new content!
I have had the same issue after installing it, and I can't use the Chrome OS Beta becouse it requires 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
Same issue? #10561
Not the same issue, using -cef-disable-gpu doesn't work. That is an issue with arch
I am having the exact same issue as well, both the flathub application, as well as the .Deb file itself show this issue. Launching steam just doesn't work.
Please do not write us off as a lost cause as it seems you may have putting the Chrome OS tag on us. We are using Chrome computers and running in Linux. We just want the games we paid for in the system we are used to having them.
Your system information
tar -zcvf ~/Desktop/steam-logs.tar.gz ~/.steam/steam/logs]Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
I can get the Linux client to load and get the sub pages (like the friends list and the first ad) in full color but the ENTIRE main screen is black. It will not allow me to click on anything but the area with the closing X (upper right hand corner).
I have tried to delete Steam and everything to do with it and reinstall clean but it happened again. I tried restarting my computer and even tried to ending the Linux and restarting it on the Chromebook. Every time it ends the same, the main screen is black, while I can see the other windows I can not see the main window, which means I can not even get to my game.
I do not want to relearn how to put Steam and all of my other stuff in the Chrome OS Beta, I know how to do it all in Linux already.
Please advise asap
