I store my games on a second ssd and lets say i distro hop and then create a desktop shortcut from that game in steam, it will create a steam icon instead of grabbing the correct image from the game for the shortcut.

Of course reinstalling fixes this problem, but id rather not do that everytime i want a proper image for the shortcut

can confirm, i'm having the same issue. i tested it by uninstalling a small game then reinstalling. icon works perfectly, but having my existing library it wont make correct icons.

This issue is still relevant, creating shortcuts for games that were installed on a previous distro create a steam icon, while games that were installed on the distro being used have no issues.

Nothing extracted yet.
