Hello. I cannot find a working download url for Gunman Chronicles, so I can't check the mod.
Though, if the game uses a custom library in dlls/something.dll that isn't hl.dll, you probably won't get it running.
If it has a hl.dll file, you can copy the hl.so from Half-Life/valve/dlls/hl.so to Half-Life/rewolf/dlls/hl.so and add
gamedll_linux "dlls/hl.so"
to your Half-Life/rewolf/liblist.gam
There is no linux port of Gunman, so it cannot work.
@swordfischer that worked perfectly
@alfred-valve sorry this is loading Gunman as a Half Life mod and works after swordfischer's comments.
This on Windows usually works through the Steam Client as it acts like a normal Half Life Mod and assume other older mods will work the same.
@swordfischer I noticed when running Steam through terminal it dies trying to run hl.exe, you know which file has that info in to change it to hl_linux ?
I wish you brought back Gunman on Steam Store..
It still doesn't work but running with "-game rewolf", that works now (it never used to) but looking at #960 @alfred-valve might have fixed it soon.
This is now fixed, I had to copy the latest .so file for it to load and update liblist.gam like @swordfischer said but now it works perfectly.
Thank you.
@Sarkie You mentioned that the game works perfectly. I have copied the game folder into Steam folder. Applied Steam Fix from the following URL. Copied hl.so file to dlls folder of the mod. Edited liblist.gam with the mentioned line. The game launches as a HL mod on Steam without a problem; the game starts without an issue. However, characters and some of the sounds are unable to be loaded. Because of that it is not possible proceed. Have you experienced such problem?
Thanks, regards.

I know it is Third Party but it works with Half Life Windows.
I can get it loading with
But it'll fail to load a level
