Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

I see no way of stopping the playback of a soundtrack while in gamemode. Not even the new CEC controls allow pausing with the media buttons.

This has been fixed. There is now a UI button to pause soundtrack playback. Using remote controller buttons through CEC shall be tracked in https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/10871
