I have a laptop, which has a touchpad. I also have a mouse, so I disable the touchpad using the built in button on my keyboard (FN+F3, in my case). This causes... Bizzare effects in TF2.

Generally, a single (or prolonged) tap confirms the menu option that is "default", usually the top one ("Multiplayer" on the title screen, and then "cancel" on that party create thing). Also, taping and dragging causes... Selection... In that if you hold the touchpad on the title screen first it will go to the multiplayer screen, then if you move your finger left or right, it will select the option to the left or right.

In games (the bots at the moment), tapping the pad does nothing except exit the menu if you are in one.

This seems to only happen after TF2 looses focus, however TF2 will still act on "taps" if it is not the active window. Tapping in a "control input field" (in the keyboard option menu) sets the thing to "JOY1".

If the touchpad is enabled, it works as expected of a touchpad (like a mouse).

I have acquired a gamepad/controller/whatever you want to call it, and it does not work for TF2 (although on the first startup it did say something about enabling a controller) even though in big picture it works, although the buttons are scrambled. Mashing the buttons and the stick do nothing, even in the "keyboard control" input box where you map keyboard stuff.

This seems to have resolved itself now, and the touchpad does not (I think) do anything when turned off, and my controller works, albeit with all the buttons scrambled.

And... The bug seems to be back... This is more complicated than it seems...
