I tried to type with special letters like ä, ö, ü in a Steam Chat using the Steam Overlay but it didn't type out those special letters. However this works fine using the Desktop Steam Friends Chat. I am also using a German Keyboard with the German Keyboard Layout in Linux.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

1. Open Steam Overlay
2. Open a Steam Friend's Chat or any writeable Text Box
3. Try to type ä, ö, ü
4. See nothing
