Happens with a fresh install of 3.5.19. Don't have to install the game to an SD card, just have one inserted. Going to desktop mode shows that the 'create an application shortcut' toggle that doesn't appear in handheld mode gets toggled to 'on' when an SD card is inserted, and persists after removal. Otherwise, before no SD card is inserted, it defaults to 'off'.
