Steam is crashing behind the game, and is crashing games with it.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Load a game (Helldivers 2, most commonly for me)
  2. Try to connect to another player (joining me / joining them)
    Happens fairly often

Hi, it's happening again, this time on Terraria, so my crashes arent just limited to Proton games
steam-logs.tar.gz
crash-dumps.tar.gz
Terminal output:

System information is still the same
Steam client version: 1718751621

It's happening in the same way, joining a friend crashes Steam, and then eventually the game when the connection is never resolved

I've worked out that this is just a common problem for me.
If I don't use Gamescope, games crash when someone joins via Steam.
I have this issue in tModLoader, Tabletop Simulator and Helldivers 2 at this point.
@kisak-valve you should update the tags and remove Proton, since it's not proton specific
