In the settings panel Steam > Settings > Storage the directory displayed below the dropdown is given in all caps. On windows this is not really an issue (although I still don't like it, even in that context), but on Linux and Mac it is simply displaying an incorrect path as the case matters.
The actual path, /home/uname/.local/share/Steam is not the same as what is displayed, /HOME/UNAME/.LOCAL/SHARE/STEAM
Is this a super important issue? No, clearly I figured it out. But if one recognizes the issue and assumes it should all be lower case they will end up trying to go to a non-existent folder since the steam folder is capitalized, which is kinda annoying.
