Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Forza Horizon 5 does not detect Logitech G29 on Steam Deck. On other devices, this can be fixed by disabling Steam Input. However on Steam Deck, extra steps has to be taken to unload the Steam Deck controller before it would work.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Start Steam on Steam Deck
  2. Connect Driving input device, in my case, Logitech G29
  3. Disable Steam Input on Forza Horizon 5
  4. Start Forza Horizon 5
wheel is not detected

Work around steps:

  1. Start Steam on Steam Deck
  2. Connect Driving input device, in my case, Logitech G29
  3. Disable Steam Input on Forza Horizon 5
  4. Run the following to unload Steam Deck controller in kernel
cd /sys/bus/hid/drivers/hid-steam/
for f in 0003*; do echo $f | sudo tee unbind; done
  1. Start Forza Horizon 5
wheel is detected
