Your system information

  • Steam client version (build number or date): 1726604483
  • Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): Arch
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: No
  • Have you checked for system updates?: Yes (1 hour ago)
  • Steam Logs: steam-logs.tar.gz
  • GPU: Nvidia (With proprietary drivers)

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

After I launch satisfactory (I will test it with other games) a few times, steam will refuse to launch any other games and other non steam apps that require vulkan (ie: vkcube, vulkaninfo) become very slow and some odd behavior arises such as vkcube only rendering new frames when the window is being manipulated.

When launching steam from a terminal and running a game, 2 errors (that I found) are thrown

vkEnumeratePhysicalDevices failed, unable to init and enumerate GPUs with Vulkan.
BInit - Unable to initialize Vulkan!

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Launch satisfactory a few times
  2. Try launching another game
  3. Wait and notice that that game never launches

Hello @Person-Who-Exists, this reads more like a video driver or window manager issue than a Steam client issue. Report this issue to your video driver vendor.
