AFAIU, it's a bug. Changing one input property, like disabling "Regular Press" on d-pad, shouldn't reset a different property that you've explicitly changed, like re-enabling disabled haptics.
It's literally been like that since day 1. I don't think it's a bug, it's how Steam Input handles defaults when changing activators. For example when you change regular press to start press, steam input automatically makes it apply Medium haptics.
The L3 defaults to having medium haptics while R3 defaults to having no haptics.
Dpad when set to emulate Joystick defaults to medium haptics.
Activators such as Start Press, Long Press, etc. default to medium haptics.

Whenever changing something from Regular Press to anything else or changing something like the dpad to emulate the joystick, steam always applies haptics. Does anyone actually like this functionality? Who else finds it to be a nuisance?
