  • GPU: Intel, Intel i3 1115G4 Laptop

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Hello, when you first start Steam, it starts in a different language than the distro. I use PtBr Utf8, and Steam starts in English.
In Windows 11 it starts in PtBr.

I also wanted to make a suggestion: come with Proton stable enabled by default also in compatibility settings 😄

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Download the Steam client from the official website and install it with two clicks.
  2. Start Steam and complete the final download steps
  3. Steam starts in English on a system with the ptbr language

Success always

Could this be rewritten to something like "Steam client does not default to system language"? This happens on every locale and is probably just not implemented at all.

The whole thing probably needs better locale integration, this bug happens in reverse on SteamOS.

Nothing extracted yet.
