I'm seeing something similar. I'm also on Arch, but I can verify that I had steam running about 3 weeks ago.

OK, it started working again when I downgraded my kernel to 6.11.9. Either 6.12.6 or 6.12.7 was the first version I observed to be bad.
I also observed issues with chromium and VS code being slow to start, that seem to have gone away now too.
Sadly no effect. Downgraded to 6.11.9 myself, same thing.
For the time being, I'm using Flatpak just for Steam, which launches and works fine.
Seems to have been fixed? Just tried latest Steam off Arch repositories again and it finally loads up.
Nothing extracted yet.
Your system information
Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
I simply can't ever open my Steam, plain one or native-runtime off Arch repositories, no matter how. I last used Steam around July this year, and just now I can't for who knows why ever open it up. Still happens even after updating my Steam client to latest version.
Tried cleaning out both .steam and /local/share/steam folders, tried native-runtime, checked if I got any symlinks up, tried disabling both sandboxing and GPU acceleration, tried starting it up on Intel iGPU and NVIDIA dGPU (I have a hybrid laptop), but to no avail.
Steps for reproducing this issue:
Just try opening up Steam.
