Steam support has referred me here because they can't help me any further.

I use Steam on my Debian 12 Linux, but not via the Debian Repos but I downloaded it from Steam and then installed it.

Now that I often work with different fonts, I have “installed” some in my home directory under .fonts. Since then I sometimes have a different font in the Steam client without having changed the system default fonts. Is this a bug in the Steam client or can I set somewhere in the Steam client which fonts should be used?

The following fonts are affected:

• in the Friends category, the search fields and buttons (Manage friends list, Add friend)
• in the store also buttons, search fields / input fields, links and partly also the descriptions
