I've set steam to start automatically on system startup. This works normally and as intended. But If I then try starting games (or steam itself for that matter) via my application runner, it instead shows me an steamwebhelper not responding window:
Since I don't know what might be causing it providing a reproduction proves difficult. But what I generally do to check if it's still like this is the following:
Start Steam
Run a game using the application runner
Observe if it tries to start another steam instance or not
Your system information
Steam client version (build number or date): no idea tbh. I've searched far and wide
Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): NixOS 25.05.20250102.6df2492 (Warbler) x86_64
Opted into Steam client beta?: Initially, but I also tried without
Have you checked for system updates?: Yes
Steam Logs: steam-logs.tar.gz
GPU: AMD ATI Radeon RX 7700 XT / 7800 XT
