Hi @BeyondSubmerged. The link there to install Steam is actually just triggering an install request on the Chromebook for ChromeOS to handle the install and setup of Steam. You can report feedback about the Steam for Chromebook beta as described here: https://support.google.com/chromebook/answer/14220699#troubleshoot_steam_chromebook

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
Describe what you expected should happen and what did happen.
Purchased my kids new Asus Vibe CX34 chromebooks which meet the minimum system requirements for the Steam on Chromebook client. Setup family accounts on Steam so I can manage mine and my kids accounts and purchases. Install directly from Steam website fails with a message "Steam for Chromebook (Beta) is not available for child Google Accounts" when attempting to install in my kids accounts. Install works if I log onto the same device with my 'parent' personal account.
Contacted Google Family Link support, they claim this is not part of the family link block and cant be 'allowed' through their platform.
Contacted Steam support and they indicated that they don't understand why this would be blocked for a child account but work for the parent account on the same device and suggested I open an issue report here.
