Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

I expect to remain logged in, not to have to log in with email password every time I exit steam.
It also prevents me from using Steam in gamescope mode. It just exits to desktop, and can never enter gaming mode. (e.g. on bazzite, boot directly into steam).
This started just last week on bazzite, it was fine one week before that. After that I did fresh installs of bazzite, nixos, fedora without success.
It only happens on my custom pc, not on my laptop.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

1. Log in. Remember my password on this device checked.
2. Exit steam: Right task bar icon, exit.
3. Open steam: on terminal $ steam or from desktop icon
4. steam shows log in screen
