The issue is present in both the pacman and Flatpak versions.
For me it only happens with the repo version, not with the flatpak.
I also have this issue and have confirmed it is not a hyprland specific issue.
After doing some testing I have found that it might be race condition as when I was running steam under strace (slowing the program down alot) it didn't crash for a lot longer.
After reapplying/changing my GTK theme it seems to have permanently fixed this for me. Test it yourselves and see if it fixed it.
Changing the GTK theme seems to have fixed my issue as well. I was having a crash loop when launching steam.
Can confirm that changing the GTK theme did fix the issue, but that should absolutely not be the cause for a segfault.
