  1. Plug in the GameSir X2S controller via USB, it shows up in jstest-gtk and sdl2-jstest correctly but not in Steam's Controller settings

I know it used to work fine over USB. I didn't realize this controller even supported using it over USB when I bought it, but I discovered that with a C to C cable it was a nice compact controller for gaming on my laptop and I didn't have to worry about re-pairing Bluetooth constantly or battery life. I know this worked a few months back but now it doesn't seem to show up in Steam on my desktop, my laptop, or my Steam Deck despite hid-generic loading for the device and /dev/input/js0 being created. It seems to show up in controllers.txt in the Steam logs but isn't actually showing up in Steam's controller list or able to control Steam Big Picture mode.

The controller works correctly in Bluetooth mode when it is in DS4 mode (pairing + B) but Linux does not detect it at all in yellow or cyan (pairing + X or A) modes.

I second this.

I found out today that I am having a similar issue using steam input with my Razer Wolverine Tournament Edition Xbox controller. It has been working flawlessly and last time I remember using it was only a few weeks ago, but now even in games where it worked it no longer does not.

I am on steam version 1741737356
