Hello @MentheMiel, this issue should also be mentioned to the game's dev(s).
I should also mention the following fact. Copying the game files and adding a steam_appid file and launching the game outside of Steam completely solves the problem. This seems to be a Steam-specific problem.
I found this issue which is the exact same problem. Mine is still not corrected by either a Steam or an Ubuntu upgrade (I have the latest Steam version and upgrading to Ubuntu 24 didn't solve it).
Exact same issue on Mint 22. Tried both with flatpak steam (which I've heard is unofficial) and Steam from apt and the .deb from the website. Tried both with vanilla and Everest. I also have an Nvidia GPU and it seems like it's a Steam/Celeste issue

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:
When trying to launch Celeste, the green "Play" button comes back after a short time.
Looking at the logs, it looks like there is an invalid pointer exception / SIGABRT.
Here are the logs when I launch the game from a terminal : log.txt.
I have tried with and without the Linux Runtime compatibility layers, with and without Steam client Beta, with and without the beta releases of Celeste.
This issue seems to happen specifically with Celeste, since Steam is able to launch Stardew Valley without effort.
