Your system information

  • Steam client version: 1741737356
  • SteamOS version: 3.6.22
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: [Yes/No] No
  • Opted into SteamOS beta?: [Yes/No] No
  • Have you checked for updates in Settings > System?: [Yes/No] Yes

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

In the download section in the settings menu, the "for example" part on the subtext for "Updates to installed games" may show non-steam games added to steam from the desktop, which is not indicative of how steam handles updates for non-steam games, which is "not at all".

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Add a non-steam game to your library.
  2. I don't actually know the reproducing steps to get here but I think the game is randomly chosen from the library
  3. Notice that the example given is a non-steam game, which cannot be updated through steam.

Expected fix:

For the example game to be a game that is installed via steam only, instead of choosing ones via steam and non-steam games.
