Opening the Steam client causes my entire system to lag for the next ~10-15 minutes when I open steam.
I get that downloads can use a bunch of cpu, but this persists even when there are no downloads.
I'm talking mouse clicks take like 10 seconds to register. video playback studders. My entire computer is unusable during this time.
This is present in the beta as well as the non beta steam client.
These issues have not gotten any better with time. I switched from the deb version of steam, to the flatpak, and all of the issues are gone. So I am using the flatpak version now.
Nothing extracted yet.
