Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

For quite some time Steam client for linux cannot remember some settings. There may be more of them but i am listing here only those settings whitch i am changing. On Windows is no problem and Steam client saves all settings.

It is known behaviour that if i delete download cache from settings, Steam client will restart and open on account selection page. After logon back, some settings are reset to defaults.

I have observed this on following settings pages:

Interface:
"24-hour clock" toggle will turn back off
"Start Up Location" will revert from Library back to Store

Cloud: - "Screenshot Management" toggle will turn back off

In Game: - "Toolbar Preferences" will completelly reset and enable all toggles

"Game Recording" - you have to click again on "Got it" like first time when it was a new feature

There may be more settings which are not saved, but i have observed only these which are my preferred.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Logon to Steam client
  2. Change described settings
  3. Clear Steam downloads cache, logon back after client auto-restart and check those settings. They will be reset to default.

Steam cloud itself also will turn itself back on

This is an issue when launching steam without an internet connection, since these settings will reset if it can't connect to the server.
