Just decided to google the bug and I get the same thing here. Looking through other issues, it honestly looks like segfaults with "$STEAMROOT/$STEAMEXEPATH" happen frequently enough. Might be an issue worth peeking into with the script itself? I'm not a dev (or smart enough to go through the script lol) but I imagine.
I am having this same exact issue running Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon with kernel 6.8.0-52-generic, so it is not a Fedora-only issue
Updated to Nobara 42 (uname -a now says 6.14.5-200.nobara.fc42.x86_64), purged EVERYTHING relating to Steam, reinstalled Steam, same issue. I personally can't see the issue with the steam.sh script and I'm too scared to try to understand it, I will admit.

i installed steam with
sudo dnf install steamand i keep getting a line in my log saying/home/arseniccatnip/.local/share/Steam/steam.sh: line 868: 77801 Segmentation fault (core dumped) "$STEAMROOT/$STEAMEXEPATH" "$@"full log!!
