Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Attempting to transition between the Stable branch of Steam / SteamOS to the Preview results in the user having to reboot the device multiple times and have to reset the branch info a second time. This issue is not present if Show Advanced Update Channels is enabled in the Developer tab.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

1. Navigate to Steam > Settings > System.
2. Under Beta Participation, set System Update Channel to Preview.
3. Select Restart Now when prompted.
4. Repeat the steps above.

Note: Issue is specific to Steam Deck devices as Steam does not handle Desktop system updates.

Actual result

• Upon selecting Preview and rebooting the Steam Deck, the System Update Channel will be set to Beta. Selecting Preview will again prompt to reboot and only then will OS Update Channel and Steam Client Update Channel appear with their correct branch selected.

Expected result

• Upon selecting Preview and rebooting the Steam Deck, OS Update Channel is set to Preview and Steam Client Update Channel is set to Steam Deck Beta.

Notes

• This issue is mostly relevant when SteamOS Beta and Preview are on different builds.
