Your system information

  • Steam client version (build number or date): 1745876290 (Stable) / 1746745899 (Beta)
  • Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): SteamOS 3.6.24 / 3.7.5 / 3.8.0 and Manjaro 25 KDE
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: Yes. Occurs on both Stable and Beta.
  • Have you checked for system updates?: Yes
  • Steam Logs: steam-logs.tar.gz
  • GPU: AMD Van Gogh RDNA 2.0 (Steam Deck) and RX 7800XT (Desktop)

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

When the user interface is manually scaled to +6 steps or higher on Steam Deck, the item panel from the Storage tab gets computed with a height of 0px (On Desktop the required amount of steps varies based on resolution but can also be reproduced). The panel can't be selected (Gamepad, Mouse or Touchscreen) therefore the underlying elements are inaccessible. This prevents titles from being uninstalled without manually adjusting the user interface scale.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. On Steam Deck, navigate to Steam -> Settings -> Display.
  2. Toggle off Automatically Scale User Interface.
  3. Select the slider below and press A.
  4. Press d-pad right 6 times (There is a slight delay every step so wait for the scale to adjust inbetween presses to make sure you're at least at +6).
  5. Navigate to Storage.
  6. Press d-pad down twice to reach the item panel.

Reproduction Rate: 5/5

Affected Platforms

  • LCD / Jupiter: Yes
  • OLED / Galileo: Yes
  • Desktop Deck-like session (gamescope -e -- steam -gamepadui -steamdeck): Yes
  • Desktop: Yes, in Big Picture Mode

Actual result

  • At larger interface scale users are unable to interact with the item panel of the Storage tab. This prevents titles from being uninstalled .

Expected result

  • The item panel of the Storage tab should remain accessible at all user interface scale.

Notes

  • Various elements of Steam become incorrectly scaled / cutoff at larger scaling but this was the only area that caused functionality to become inaccessible.

I can confirm this is now fixed in the latest Beta (1754001374). Thumbnails get removed at +2 and up and list always remains scrollable even at +9 (max).
