Your system information

  • Steam client version (build number or date): Mon, Apr 28 2:09 PM UTC -08:00
  • Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): Arch
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: No
  • Have you checked for system updates?: Yes
  • GPU: AMD 6800XT

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

When using Steam's Big Picture Mode to browse the store with a controller, navigating down
through the list behaves unexpectedly. After pressing the down button approximately four
times, instead of continuing to move further down the list through available content, the
selection unexpectedly wraps around and jumps back to the top of the list. This happens even
though there is more content available below the current selection. As a result, it becomes
impossible to browse the store beyond a certain point using a controller in Big Picture Mode.

This isn't an issue exclusive to Linux, I found a discussion on the steam forums about it.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Launch Steam client.
  2. Switch to Big Picture Mode.
  3. Navigate to the Store section.
  4. Using a controller, press the down button repeatedly to move through the store items.
  5. Observe that after about four or more presses, instead of continuing down, the selection jumps to
the top, despite more items being available below.

I can reproduce this. What's curious is that it is reproducible on a Steam Deck in desktop mode but in gamemode you can scroll the store page just fine.

Disabling autoscale and adjusting to smaller text seems to fix this issue.
